Chapter to Chapter
"Highway 95 pt. 2" by Baby Keem

This weekend was spent moving. I got my godmother’s van from Brussels and drove to Lille with a friend from high school. In Lille, we loaded up the car with all the stuff I had gathered over the span of four years. We also fit another friend into the car for the way to Liège. There is some beauty in the idea of travelling across borders towards a new phase of life with friends made in previous chapters.

Once again, I am changing my environment. New environments are great. The curiosity that new surroundings bring out in me is the source of discovering people and places. Proof being the two friends I brought along for the trip from two different chapters of my life.

When the routine settles, it becomes more complex to stay curious. As a James Clear fanboy, I am not one to hate on routines either. Routine can help us accelerate progress. Yet, breaking habits is also an interesting exercise. It helps to freshen up and see the situation from a new angle. The difficulty is to switch things up often enough to see where we are going without losing momentum.

But how often is often enough? For that, I want to differentiate local and global changes. Global changes like moving countries can make a person unstable if done multiple times in a short amount of time (rather ironic of me to say that since I am changing countries twice in 3 months).

Switching environments locally is something to strive for more often. It helps keep the benefits of routines all whilst bringing up new data for our brains. This could be trying a new sport, going out with different people, or simply walking places unknown to us.

Since I have been driving quite a bit recently, I found that rap is a vibe when behind the wheel. This one hits nice.

Enough for today!
