The Army is Waiting

This is the next step – I am going to the army tomorrow at 10 A.M. This upcoming year spent serving my country will give me a break from the two years of prépa and the opportunity to spend time in Estonia.
Once my best friend went through my hair with the hair clipper it really hit home, I am going. That being said I am relatively calm about the whole situation. I believe that I have the physical capabilities to hold on, I see it being just a longer version of summer camp – a lot of sports and tomfoolery.
This blog might change routes. It has always been about documentation, yet it was always from a student's perspective in Lille. This does not mean that I will stop trying to write, more so that this writing will be governed by the ideas of a person in the military and no more by those of a student. It might make a difference, it might not.
Also about the blog, I have considered stopping the weekly posts. The arbitrary goal I set for myself was to hit 100 weekly blog posts in a row. This is the 98th post – I am only two off from hitting my goal. I am not sure yet if I want to do a break right now or later, since I believe that this blog is something that really helped structure my week when starting off in France.
Soon I will know how much of my actual experience in the army I can share here and elsewhere. I learned from friends and some reading that some information is not supposed to exit the military base at all. For example, one is not allowed to take pictures or videos of the base since it could be used as counterintelligence.
I'll be back with an update next Monday!
This Week's Suggestions:
🎶 "La Bohème" by Charles Aznavour:
I suppose I am already feeling nostalgic about leaving France. Aznavour has a lot of great songs but this is one that I really like! Give it a spin!
See you in 7 days!
