Positive Workweek
“On façonne les plantes par la culture, et les hommes par l’éducation.” Rousseau
Translation : “We shape plants through culture, and people through education.”
This first week back was rough. I did not get going fast enough. My Saturday’s exams went quite badly due to lack of studying. Furthermore there were lots of positive cases in my class. The whole regulation-restriction situation is quite confusing. Hopefully we will get past this soon enough.
In human formation we were presenting talents. I presented my mixing. Firstly I explained broadly how I got into it and my appreciation for electronic music, then I proceeded to show on the mixing board what buttons do and explain the technical side to it. To end it off I showed one transition to the class live. I got quite good feedback! I am happy that I chose that as my talent not something else.
On Monday I decided to uninstall Instagram from my phone because I noticed myself being on it a little too often. By the end of the week I did not have the wanted result. Instead of being less on my phone because I do not have anywhere to scroll I just find myself wandering around. I hope that maybe I can change that and start reading more during daytime.
While I write this blogpost I should be preparing my french presentation on Rousseau’s “Émile” for tomorrow that I have somewhat of a rough draft for. That is why this week’s post is a little shorter than usual. This is an assignment that was given months in advance and of course, being humans, we created a group on social media for it the day before the presentation to divide the work.
Here's a cool thing to learn (that I have not yet): the doomsday algorithm. It's quite simple but has a cool touch to it. Basically when mastered, You can tell from any date which day it is (of course without looking it up). So for example when told the date 29/08/2002 after a few quick calculations You know that it was a Thursday. It is absurd and quite useless, but it is fun.
That's all! Thanks for tuning in!
