Choose Wisely

"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice." René Descartes
In Lille, I have a large group of people that I hang out with. It is a group of about 15 people. It is difficult to do things with such a big group of people. For example this very weekend I decided to do a weekend getaway to Brussels because we had Thursday and Friday off as well. My family's house in Brussels is not big enough to comfortably welcome 15 people. Choices had to be made.
I decided to invite a third of the group since it is the most reasonable number of humans to properly travel with. I have the feeling that some people in the larger group hold a grudge against me for not picking them in the five. This might just be an illusion. Either way, I think me going through with my choice of people is a great thing. The difficulty of making the choice could have just frozen me and made me cancel the whole trip.
The cancelling of the trip could have solved the situation of possibly hurting people's feelings. Yet it would have meant that I would not have gotten to get an awesome trip with friends to the capital of Europe! I treasure the fact that I got to show my friends around town, be a host and have intimate conversations.
This Week's Suggestions:
🎶 "F. Chopin "Nocturne No. 20":
In the group of people travelling with me was a great piano player. During our time in Brussels, he would just randomly get behind the piano and play for up to an hour. It was amazing to have quality live music in the house. This Chopin song especially caught my ear, it is absolutely beautiful and it has a stunning trill that just gives you goosebumps. Give it a listen and imagine having a mojito on a Saturday evening.
🎬 "Ce réglage peut briser votre addiction au smartphone." :
This video is in French but it has English subtitles if necessary! The video explains how colours are used against us and how we can try to take back some of the control over our phone addiction.
Have a lovely rest of the day!
