Layering Life

Layering Life
"Fragments" by Workforce

I am currently living in a fraternity house. I am also actively trying to join said fraternity. In this context, I have the role of pledge captain. For context, pledging is the process of joining the fraternity to become a brother.

Even though I am honoured to be voted captain of the pledge class, at first, it felt like more of a chore. Especially since I am here for only one semester, so investing myself to a bigger degree seemed like a rewardless task. That being said, as time moves on, I can see how this is motivating me to do more.

Not only in that fraternity context, but also for classes and volleyball. The compounding of responsibilities creates an environment where my time is precious and needs to be spent wisely. Hopefully, this does not lead to a crash-and-burn scenario. For now, it seems to be a driving force.

For example, I had some pledge events from Sunday morning till the early afternoon. Right now I am at the school library, working on upcoming exams and writing this blog before going to volleyball practice in the evening. This layered life creates some extra meaning, which is slick.

This Week's Suggestions:

🎶 "Fragments" by Workforce:

This is my kind of study music. Liquid drum and bass. It has a fast tempo to keep the mind active, yet does not disturb the workflow with any vocals.

💡 Layering Deadlines :

I was certain that I already had a title with "Layers" to it. I was right. Here's a throwback to a 2022 post I made when I was in prépa!

That's all I got for today. I should study a bit more before practice!
