House of the March Hare

'It was the best butter.' Lewis Caroll in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
I walked into my first class on Monday with brand new jeans. I went to the whiteboard to solve a problem and on my way back to my seat a girl pointed out that there was still a purchase sticker on my pants – a refreshing start to the week. Also on Monday I had my first language lessons : French-Philosophy , Spanish and English. My Spanish was a bit rusty, but i got the hang of it quite quickly. If in doubt I usually take the french word and add an 'a' or an 'o' at the end of it. Most of the time it makes something understandable enough for the teacher to recognise.
The odd part about my Prépa experience is that we are not given a clear schedule. We are given a class lists (with our names), within that list there are halves, thirds, quarters and even sixths. Based on that information and a general timetable, we have to figure out which class to go to. Of course the oral examinations have their own setup, so that means another class list and different types of groups, otherwise it would be too straightforward. The cherry on the cake is that these timetables are prone to change at any time.
I was supposed to have my first oral examination this Thursday. 'Supposed to' because I pulled a prank on myself. The examination took place at 16:00, but I managed to convince myself that it is at 6 and thus at 18:00. It is a 0/20 that stings. Especially since I was confident in the subject. On the other side I have now proof checked all of the "oral examination" event notifications on my calendar for there to be no chance of missing the next ones.

This week I am reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. In my family we have a vinyl with a 1989 audio version of this book that is incredibly well narrated in Estonian (I found a digital version as well for my fellow Estonians). Since a very young age this audiobook has been playing in the household and because of that I have a few quotes that now resonate with me. Whilst reading the original version I have found that those quotes are just as good in English :
'Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!'
'There might be some sense in your knocking, if we had the door between us.'
'Why is a raven like a writing-desk?'
It is worth going down the rabbit hole if you have a few hours to spare after a long day. Have a lovely week!
