First Of Many Lasts

Yesterday was my last volleyball game with my team, SMS Marquette. One of many lasts for this year. This was my first reality check. Because of this, I’m trying to behave like a sponge taking in every last bit of this experience here in France. Every discussion, every name, and every view is taken into account.

I do not think that living like this is possible at all times. Sometimes we just get caught up in life's cadence and forget about how lucky we are to be where we are. This reality check is what helped me escape the imposed cadence.

Even though I am looking forward to spending some time in Estonia, I cannot escape the bittersweet feeling that comes with the thought of leaving Lille. I had started to consider this French student city as my home. It was that someplace I could go back to. I could even say that it was, for the last year, the backbone of my existence. It was the structure, around which I built my life.

At the time of writing this, I am expected at a bar to have drinks with my teammates. Thus to conclude this short and erratic text, spend some time with your colleagues, friends and family. It’s worth it and you will be grateful for it!

I put a playlist on shuffle play while writing this post and it was the first song that came on. For some reason, I can relate to it right now. It is some melodic future bass, I find it very calming. Check it out!
