Faster. Better. Stronger.

I joined the army 8 weeks ago. At the start 5km seemed like a long distance. Now it has become a warm-up distance. 20 push ups was a decent amount. Now it's on the lower end of the spectrum. We have been put through tougher scenarios in order for us to feel more confident in all scenarios. Once you've conquered Mount Everest Mont Blanc is just another hill.
During this 2 month period my physical abilities, somewhat unsurprisingly, have increased. Concrete examples being:
- My max pull ups
- My running pace
- My max push ups
The reason I do indeed find it surprising is because apart from the push ups I have not trained those specific movements. They are a side product of the other types of activities we do.
It was just a sudden jump. Before the army I could do 2 pull ups. Now 8 weeks in, I did 8 pull ups in a row. That’s 400% performance right there without direct training of said muscle group.
So, food for thought — try to find some activity and think beyond the direct fruits of its labor. As in, consider that there might be positive or negative side effects to aforementioned activity.
This Week’s Suggestions:
My sister made me discover this song. It is a lovely, happy vibe song. Give it a spin. It's the same artist, who made "Way Down We Go which is slightly overplayed in my opinion.
That's all I got for today! Till next week!
