Family First
This weekend my family and I celebrated the birthday of my cousin's son. We almost always get together at my aunt's place for these occasions. At my aunt’s we have a meal together in the early afternoon. It consists of a main dish which, as a rule, is followed by coffee and cake.
This time after all the important cake consumption was done we played a game called "ÄSK". It is a simple game – on every card, there is a specific question. Every person gets a question and answers it to the best of their abilities.
We got into debates about some questions like "What would you remove from the mandatory educational curriculum?" All questions were great conversation igniters. Furthermore, if someone got off track then another question could be asked in order to move on. It was a very entertaining way to spend time with family.
One of the questions that came up was "What is the one tradition in your family that you enjoy most?" My 92-year-old grandmother answered the question: "The get-togethers here at my daughter's home." This answer was widely accepted by everyone there.
Digging deeper, I think the fact that we have these sorts of events creates a certain amount of structure. It is something to expect, to look forward to. Statistically speaking, after the teenage years, we spend on average up to 4 times less time with our family. Thus I am grateful that I get to have this planned time with my family.
This Week's Suggestions:
🎶 Camo & Krooked, Live From A Train (ÖBB) | UKF On Air:
Camo & Krooked are pioneers of Drum and Bass as a genre. They have a series of mixes where they mix in the most specific locations. Some examples, they have mixed on a boat, in a wind turbine, on a hot air balloon, in the Alps and now in a train travelling Austria. Their sets are always full of experiments and mashups. It does stay rather heavy drum and bass, so you were warned!
Have a lovely day!
