Everything flows
I have been on a streak of morning meditations for 2 weeks now. It is the same 7-minute guided meditation every morning. As a closing to the session, there is a quote from Lao Tzu:
“When you realise nothing is lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
I am unsure if it is this meditation or other factors, but recently everything has been falling into place without too much strain. From the summer internship in Liège to the academic exchange in Canada.
Somehow, I am currently able to take that step back and ask myself if worrying is necessary. Since the number of responsibilities has not reduced, it is my interpretation of them that has changed.
I do not try to force something to go my way. I go with the stream and see where it takes me. Following the stream is about moving along with purpose and keeping momentum.
Having a purpose for my actions helps me create intrinsic motivation. I get to explore my why every morning, since at the start of every session, I need to ask myself what I am grateful for this morning. This daily morning routine of gratitude helps build a picture of what matters most.
For me, something that comes up most often is the people around me. For example, on Saturday, I had two 15-minute calls with long-distance friends that I had not heard from in a while. Even if 15 minutes doesn't cover everything, it felt more replenishing than a good night's sleep!
It is in these moments that I also realise that maybe "nothing is lacking" indeed, and everything is as it should be.
This Week's Suggestions:
🎶 "GET OUT MY HEAD" by NOTION and Redlight:
NOTION is one of my all-time favourite producers. He just manages to create such varied UK-style songs. From UK garage, jungle, to drum and bass – nothing is off limits. He tends to also work with great vocalists to create the perfect sound. Anyway, have a listen, I have had it on repeat for the past week.
Have a lovely day!
