Everything Can't Be Priority One
I have overcommitted myself this year. This week was a reminder of that. To give you a sense of what I've taken on:
Mechanical engineering classes are from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. most days, plus two technical projects (4 hours per week), treasury duties for student council (10 hours between meetings and work), and finding an internship for the summer is also a current priority.
Before summer, I would also like to get my driver's license. Lastly, I am a member of bpm.fam (a student music collective), which is not every week, but we had an event last Thursday. This doesn't even include socialising, working out, or sleeping, which in my eyes are the pillars for all the rest.
The breaking point was Friday. I had computer-aided design (CAD) classes from 9 to 5 and a project meeting starting at 5. The problem? Thursday's bpm.fam event had had me stumbling home at 3:30 AM.
My state heading to lunch was rough after three hours of CAD. I did not manage to follow along with the others on the work done in class, and this made me anxious. I suddenly had a feeling that I could never possibly do every single thing that I have taken on at 100%. I'll always feel spread thin with this schedule.
Throughout the day, the anxiety slowly faded as I managed to get some tasks done. I accepted that my work wouldn't be perfect. I just needed to move forward. After the project meeting, I returned to the computer rooms and completed what I'd missed. My day ended around 8 P.M.
The main problem on Friday was the five hours of sleep, which amplified the anxiety of not being able to do anything. That is why I call socialising, working out and sleeping the pillars of it all. If the foundation is not stable, then the rest crumbles. Ironically, I needed to crash to get that reminder.

Have started listening to more French rap recently. This is a lovely one.

Happened upon this piece of thought, and I feel like my writing is a good introduction to this video.
Have a great week!
