Eat, Sleep, Train, Repeat

This is the habit pattern I am striving towards. These are the three factors that I find most important for my well-being. I have experimented with going without each, which removes some of my functionalities.

One of the consequences is brain fog – a state during which I exist but am not cooperating with the existing world. That would be alright if I did not care, unfortunately, I find it very disturbing not to be in my best form to confront life head-on.

For example, this Wednesday, I had a school party that lasted till 2 A.M. When going home, I had already set my mind straight that I would not be attending the classes that started at 8 A.M.

I could have done it and showed "discipline", but I preferred to gather a few more hours of sleep to be in better shape for the rest of the day and I am happy with my choice. This is by no means a call to find yourself an excuse to skip class. It is simply the most recent example that came to mind.

Next, since getting a sports watch, I have started getting more detailed statistics on my sleep and my exercise habits. My exercising habits were mostly going to the gym and then hitting the hay. A valid way of doing things – that being said I noticed that the gym does not actually get my body into an "exercise state" – as in my pulse does not get very high and I am not doing much effort during my sessions.

Since that realisation, I have started to go for more runs. Surprisingly, or not, it has made me feel better, since I am putting my body out of its comfort zone more. This is all theory of course.

At the time of writing this I am in lack of all three – I went out till 5 A.M and slept 5 hours, ate a frozen pizza and some ice cream and did not exercise whatsoever. That being said, I find that these off moments are fine as long as there is somewhat of a healthy routine going.

This Week's Suggestions:

🎧 “I Don't Want This Species To Fall Off a Cliff” Chris Williamson On Donald Trump, Andrew Tate & More by Piers Morgan:

I enjoyed this quick-paced British interaction. It discusses, rather objectively I would argue, some relevant subjects like Trump's presidency, the #metoo movement and other interesting topics.

🎶 "Next 2 U" by ANDATA & CH4YN:

This melodic fast-paced trance song has brought some sunshine into the cold and dark January for me. Have a listen it's bouncy and fun!

That would be all for today!
