Dynamic Documentation

"Pic or it didn't happen" popular internet phrase
It is not the first time I have brought up the importance of documenting. A year and a half ago I spoke about the visual capturing of moments through pictures. This time I will widen the scope by exploring also music and writing.
Documenting is great for many reasons. It can help track progress, encapsulate moments to memories and dissect and thus understand our lives better. In the army, documentation is restricted. I cannot take pictures in most scenarios since there could be sensitive information.
Furthermore, describing in depth our learning process is also something that can compromise the Estonian Defence Forces and is thus to be avoided. That being said, all documentation need not be public. It can just be a personal journal.
I have found that having a personal journal is great even though I already have a weekly blog. This is, of course, because I do not describe the intricate details of my personal life here. Having a personal journal is especially great for doing the aforementioned dissecting. I have used it on multiple occasions to understand a situation better.
On another note, quite literally, I recently found songs I used to listen to during high school. My playlist from back in the day is around 600 songs. It has a lot of random songs in it which I am completely unable to listen to nowadays. So I curated a new playlist into which I extracted a selection of the best songs. In doing so I recycled songs and gave them a new life. The documentation in this context is having the playlist from the start of high school.
Another way that I have documented my life through music is through the mixes that I have posted on my SoundCloud or saved on my computer. Mixing overall is just making a playlist on the go if you dumb it down, so pretty much the same thing.
To conclude, documenting one's life is of great importance due to its many benefits. If you do not have a documentation practice I suggest you start one ASAP. Be it taking more pictures, writing or making playlists – all of them have their charm.
This Week's Suggestions:
🎶 "I'm Not Made by Design" by Nothing But Thieves:
This song is one that I just cannot escape. It keeps coming back into my life. It is a beautiful song that has such a strong energy to it. The chorus is just perfect. Enough talking, just have a listen to it.
Cheers! Till next Monday!
