Delegate or Relegate

Delegate or Relegate
"I'm Fine" by Daði Freyr

This week, I identified as a stress ball. Somehow I managed to bottle up a lot of stress and noticed it overflowed through the acting out of emotions. That scared me a bit, I felt out of control.

That is when I called up my sister and talked it out. We came to the simple conclusion that I needed to tame my perfectionism. For some reason, as soon as I attach my name to something, I have the feeling that it needs to be perfect to create a trademark "Uku product".

This is reasonable but only to a limited extent. There are 4 hefty projects due in mid-December along with our finals. For most of the projects, I have taken the role of group leader, because no one else has taken the initiative.

This accumulation of responsibility on multiple fronts is what has caused my stress to overflow (I think). Either way, when talking with my sister we got to the conclusion that I need to "Delegate or Relegate".

In the sense of not only delegating work but also responsibility. By doing the work for others I not only give myself more work but also keep others from learning from their mistakes since I fix them.

So either I manage to delegate the task with its responsibility or I relegate its importance. It comes down to taking myself less seriously, which I almost managed when cruising the coast of Portugal this summer. In an academic environment, I struggle with the serious-syndrome.

This Icelandic tells us it's alright that we are taking our time since the people who have been found are the worst to be around anyway. Good vibe music. Perfect for a Monday morning.

🎬 DO HARD THINGS by Casey Neistat:

The quality of this dude's videos is still insane to me. I know that it is simply decades of experience, but it still surprises me how comfortable his videos are to watch. The plot of the video also resonated with me so it was a very pleasant watch!
