Conscious Cooking

So I just reinstalled MyFitnessPal. I used it for a little while last year during my military service to get a grasp of my food consumption. The difference from last time was that there was no cooking involved. I was at the canteen of the military base and simply marked up what I ate.
The app makes it rather simple to track calories. You can scan the barcodes of the products, and it instantly puts the product into your app. You compose your meals based on products, and it does the math for you and shows you your calorie goal and all the macros (proportions of protein/carbohydrates/fats).
My main goal is to be in a slight calorie deficit before summer. Since I have two months of internship, it also means I have two months of rigid structure, which in this context is great. It will be easier to integrate the calorie tracking into the routine.
Meal prepping is a nice way to simplify the process of keeping tabs. Furthermore, it is rather natural to meal prep if you simply increase the amount of food you make at dinner and take it in for lunch the next day. You just need some Tupperware and you're set.
I will see how long I can go with this tracking. The point is not to make it a constant state of being, but simply being more conscious of the amounts and the quality of the food I consume. After a little while, you get a feel for it.
This Week's Suggestions:
🎬 "L'HISTOIRE DE KANYE WEST !" by SEB:
This is a very detailed documentary on how Kanye became Kanye. He is nowadays known more for his outlandish takes than anything else, but artistically speaking he is remarkable. This documentary goes into detail on all of that in a very pleasant way. Highly recommend, even though it might be easier to understand if you speak French.
🎶 "All Falls Down" by Kanye West featuring Syleena Johnson:
In the spirit of the other suggestion, here is a song from his first solo album, The College Dropout.
Have a great day!s
