Clubbing is Overrated

My rave journey started in 2019. Since then I have accumulated some amount of experience with different types of events. I have come to the unsurprising conclusion that there is a big difference between going clubbing and going raving.
Raving and clubbing cost the same amount of money for the most part. Yet I see raving as a musical experience, almost like a concert. It is why I would go as far as to argue that clubbing and raving are not even comparable.
One does not go to the club solely for the music. People have other stuff on their minds. To prove my point, there is an actual club in Lille called "Boucherie" which translates to "butcher's shop". On the opposite side of the spectrum, people that go raving are there for one thing only – the music.
I find it beautiful that music can unite people. It is not at all a new concept pioneered by ravers. For example, in Estonia, we have a Song festival which dates back to 1869. This event unites the whole country every five years and every five years everyone cries along to a song about a bumblebee flying to its nest.
I patriotically digress – back to my comparison of clubs and raves. I have had multiple club experiences and none of them have been truly satisfying. I cannot relate to the people there and find that there is a rather feral atmosphere which just makes me alert and thus uncomfortable.
To conclude, I am not judging people that do go clubbing. Do whatever you like as long as you enjoy it. I am simply stating that if I personally have the choice I will decide against going to a commercial club.
This Week's Suggestions:
🎶 "Ta lendab mesipuu poole" 2019 Song Festival edition:
I always shed a tear when listening to this. It is so powerful to have so many people sing a single song at the same time. Even if you cannot understand a single word of Estonian I suggest you watch the video just to get a grasp of the magnitude of the Estonian Song festival.
🎬 The drawing advice that changed my life:
I recently got into drawing again thanks to a school project and a close friend of mine. That's why I happened to be attracted to this video. I was not disappointed. The advice is simple but the delivery is great. Check it out if you feel that your creativity could get levelled up.
That's enough rambling for this week!
