Back To Reality

I am moving back to Estonia for a year. Up to this point, I was in denial. I cannot ignore it much longer since at the time of writing this I am at the airport in Brussels heading to Tallinn. The last time I was in Estonia for more than two months in a row was when I was ten. That was half my lifetime ago. Every time I have gone to Estonia in the past ten years I have gone for a limited time. There’s always a two-way ticket. Not this time. This time I am staying.
It will be interesting — I have yet to digest leaving Lille behind for a year. This Wednesday I gave away the keys to my apartment, that was a first reality check after two weeks of travel and party. I will eventually be returning to Lille, but that’s not for another year. First, there is a year of military service waiting for me. I am looking forward to it. My best friend’s little brother who just finished high school will join me.
At the moment, I still have two weeks before going to the army. That’s two weeks during which I will try to make the most of my time. Being in the present, saying yes and all that good stuff. I also have some reflection to do before going to the army. This includes figuring out what are the things that I want to achieve with my time there.
I already have a few things on my mind – I will try to get in the best physical shape possible while reading as much as possible. That being said, I doubt that reading is going to be enough to stimulate my brain, I need more. That's one thing I still need to figure out, how to stay sharp enough to be able to hit the ground running when returning to Lille. If you have any ideas I'm open to suggestions!
This Week's Suggestions:
🎧 The Secret World Of Black Holes:
I put this podcast on when going to get groceries and with 1.5x speed finished it just in time to get back. It's an efficient dive into the astrophysics of black holes. I was impressed by the complexity of the questions that the host (not an astrophysicist or physicist whatsoever) asked Dr Becky Smethurst.
🎶 "Missing You" by Hedex featuring A Little Sound:
This tune has been teased for a very long time by Hedex and it finally came out a few days ago. I really love A Little Sounds' vocals, especially on this calm but heavy drum and bass tune. Highly recommend it!
Have a good one!
